How to find out about your community, the Achieve and similar groups

Laindon and District Archive (LDCA) works with other community archives in partnership with the Essex Libraries and Essex Record Office. We were set up with funding from the National Lottery Heritage Fund.

The archives were tasked with creating a digital record of the social history of the community through documents, photographs, video and the spoken word, gathered from people who over the years have had a part in the development of the area or who have the area to thank for their development. This will allow the history of the evolution Laindon and the surrounding district to be recorded for future generations.

Photographs on the website are the property and copyright of the contributor and it will be necessary to obtain their permission prior to using them in any other article, website or publication. If you wish to use them we will endeavour to obtain permission if you contact us.
