  • Hello John. Thank you for your enquiry, however, I am unrelated to the Nuth family. Best wishes. Nina

  • Hi Nina, are you any relation to the “Nuths” who lived on the “Pound Lane” estate way back in the ’50s and 60s? A close buddy of mine was “Ray” he had a younger sister (sorry, can’t remember her name, it’s an age thing) and I can’t remember a “Mr Nuth” (Ray’s dad) I lost touch with Ray when he moved “Up North” regards, J.B.

  • Not very good with answering am I! (giggling). Thank you very much Nina. Much appreciated, just need to look for comments after my posts!
    Thank you.

  • Hello Jacqueline. Your request has been noted and your contact details have been forwarded to Georgina and Barry. Hopefully you will hear from them before too long.

  • Hi, After making a comment on here a few years back, I was wondering if I could be put in touch with Barry Ellerby and Georgina Nottage (nee Ellingford). Hope to hear from you soon.
    Kind Regards,
    Jacqueline Nuth.

  • Please note that the ‘Article List’ has been restored. It can be found in the green band at the very bottom of the page. I am sure we will all appreciate its return.

  • My last attempt at getting a thread going, “Where are they now”, disappointingly fell flat on its face. I have now had another ” brainwave”? In this modern age, when many are into the “selfie” frame of mind, contributors could send photos of themselves so that we know who we are reading about and/or how they have changed since last we saw them. What do you think ? Could this work or might it be better avoided ?

  • Hi Ellen
Yes that is correct, although we are going to make enquiries as to whether it is possible to have the article list on the front page again, as before.

  • Hi Nina & Colin,
In the past people went to the Article list, but if they go to Search and enter the persons, places and events etc. it will bring up relevant entries is that correct?

    By Ellen English (10/01/2018)
  • Yes, as another old fogey I find myself in agreement with Don. Familiarity might make things easier but I also miss the article list. Overall, the new format certainly seems smarter, more modern, and flashy. I do not mean flashy in any pejorative sense.

  • Hi Don. Thank you for your comment and enquiry. The new website is slightly different in some ways to the original version. The technical team has found that during transfer some functionality has changed. We are working with the other archive groups in order to resolve as many issues as possible. However, some of these only come to light when pointed out by our contributors. You may have noticed that some photographs have been disconnected from their position within the articles. This problem is to be addressed and hopefully resolved fairly soon.
First, it is only possible to upload photographs once you are registered and logged on. You should have received an email from the Archive explaining that you need to replace your password. Once you have done this, you should be able to log on using your existing User Name and the new Password. If you need any help in changing your password, please let us know.
We acknowledge that the Article List no longer appears on the front page. We are going to bring this up at this Friday’s technical meeting and hope that something can be done to rectify this.
    Best wishes.

  • Maybe it’s an age thing but I no longer find this website to be user friendly. I have great difficulty finding articles since I can no longer find the previously useful ” article list”. Nor do I seem able to upload photographs to the site. I wonder if the new format is not fully compatible with my use of an iPad as opposed to the majority of contributors/ readers who will be using computers/laptops ? Any help or advice would be gratefully received. Thanks.
