Saturday 12th November saw the publication of a book entitled ‘Morning’, to accompany the three year project undertaken by artist Shaun Badham, featuring the space-age climbing frames in Victoria Park, Laindon.

The launch took place at the Focal Point Gallery in Elmer Avenue, Southend.  The group of us who attended then walked the short distance to the Beecroft Gallery in Victoria Avenue to admire the highly colourful ‘Moon Probe’ climbing frame which is on display outside until the spring of 2017.   It is well worth a visit, preferably after dark when it can be viewed at its very best.  (see photograph above).

The evening concluded with fireworks on Southend beach.

The ‘MORNING’ publication features Warren Harper interviewing Shaun Badham and a new text by Stephanie Sutton, ‘From Plotlands to Playgrounds’.

Anybody wishing to purchase a copy of the book, which costs £15, should visit the following link:-
