The team is Laindon United – who played behind the Laindon Hotel. The Goalkeeper is Bill Cattell, its Jackie Hutchings.
Ronnie Webb and Sid Salmon went on to play for Essex. I played myself in about 1960 – Ronnie Webb was still playing.
Thank you for this photo. I remember John (Spud) Murphy and always felt he was Laindon United’s best player. From what I recall, Harry Lloyd went on to become groundsman and what a great job he did too.
