I recall as a lad of ten or eleven being fostered to a family called Howard of Dingle Dell, Merrylands Road (hopefully correct address.) Eldest daughter was Margaret and son Brian. Can anyone remember this family? I would be interested to know what happened to them. I am eighty years old now and have had an interesting life so far. It would be good to catch up with old memories. Many thanks!

Hi, Mr Dodds was a retired policeman and after he retired he worked in accounts office and met my grandad Mr Pendred, he told him that the bungalow next door to him called ‘San Remo’ was available for rent from Mrs Snelling (following Mr Snelling passing) My nan and grandad gave us grandchildren and our families many happy holidays there. Opposite San Remo was a red and white bungalow built by Mr Gilson. As you come out of Merrylands and turn left there was a councillor who had seven red setters.
Hi I used to live at Sweet Clematis, Merrylands Road, Laindon. I am now 71 years old, and only today, was telling my daughter of the wonderful life as a child growing up there. I remember my neighbour next door I think was called Brian Howard, and a lady that backed on to our garden was called Edie and kept goats. Another near neighbour was a Mr Dodd who I believed was an Essex policeman. The other next door neighbour was a lady called Doris, who I stayed with after school until my parents came home.
I hope you are still well.
