Fond Memories of Basildon Road Laindon

I was born in the bungalow called “June” in Basildon Road Laindon on 18th May 1951. Attended Laindon Park Primary School just a few hundred yards up the road towards the local church, where I remember being taken by the school for country dancing lessons in the church hall.I remember the little mission hall on the corner of Brakes Mount, I also remember it being demolished, we played the old pump organ there as kids during the demolishing of the building. I had several friends living up Basildon Rise, which was the unmade road that rose steeply up beside Laindon Park School.
