High Road shops - South section

There  has been a great deal of interest in the names and locations of the many shops that populated Laindon High Road, I have therefore added some images taken from the Basildon Development Corporation 1949 property survey.  This consist of map of the area with each property numbered, there are survey sheets with corresponding numbers (13 per page), the survey sheets give details of each property or plot of land, the name and information on condition etc.  I hope that this will help to jog your memories.

Please remember this is just a snapshot of the High Street as it was in 1949; before and after this date there was a great deal of change and shops came and went or indeed relocated.
