John Baron Fun Walk

John Baron Fun Walk – Donation.

You may be aware that each year John Baron MP arranges a Fun Walk. The past few years it has been held at Barleylands and we participated last year. It is a most enjoyable day with hundreds of people from numerous voluntary/ charity groups taking part. Unfortunately, due to the current situation where you cannot have large gatherings, it is being held virtually, in other words voluntary/charities are being encourage to walk independently. The committee has decided that we will do a walk around Victoria Park, Laindon taking necessary photo’s or video to prove that we have participated.
John Baron and his staff as in previous years have approached Basildon Businesses for donations. This Bonus Pot is a unique feature of the event, which is then distributed to participating organisation on a pro rata basis and in addition to the monies they themselves raise in sponsorship. In 2019, it added 50% of what was raised by participants.
