Laindon Millhouse School
Do you recognise yourself, child or Grandchild?
Our son asked me recently to sort out his photographs and I found these group pictures from Millhouse School. I thought it would be fun for any of you to play the guessing game again on site to name some of these angelic little faces. After all most of these children are in their forties now. It would be great to hear from locals of this age group so we can learn how they have faired since the 70’s.
If you get bored over the festive season that is nearly upon us why not play “who are they” and add the names to the Photographs. We would love to hear the memories of any of you young bloods out there.

I attended Millhouse from 1972 (aged 4) until I moved up to Laindon High. I remember the horrific years of being in Ms Emery’s class and then moving into Ms Maidstone’s class. She saved me, brought me out of my shell and allowed me to blossom. I cannot find myself in these photos. Thank you for doing this. Love looking at these pics.
I wonder if it’s the same Mrs Valerie Davis who moved on to teach at Janet Duke?
We never saw eye to eye after she confiscated my toy “blakes 7 liberator” in 1979. If could have teleported out of that class, I would have.
1977 Front Row second from left (number 30) is my brother Christopher Mason. I stumbled on this photo whilst trying to find a picture of the Northey Council Estate I grew up on.
1975 front row second from left is me, Michael Fowler. My next door neighbours in Northey at that time were David and Steven (or Stephen) Miles.
My son David Miles No.1 in 1975, No. 7 in 1976, and No. 4 in 1977, Mark Woods is No. 3. Both families moved after last photo.
It’s a good job I’m Uncle Eric’s favourite niece……I’m always nice to him, but it’s his hearing that’s the problem 🙂

1975 No. 6 has to be my neice Hayley Whitehead, known to myself as “H” meaning whatever you want it to mean.(happy, horrible (to Uncle Ern), hilarious.)
Do not see her in 1976 or 1977 (probably expelled !!!!!)
