Following lengthy discussion with Swan Housing, Council and several other bodies that normally attend, we have disappointedly decided to cancel this year’s remembrance service at the Laindon War Memorial.
Wreaths can be left at the War Memorial but we ask that you please avoid significant times. You can however play your respects by standing on your doorstep for the two minute silence and you can support the RBL Poppy Appeal by donating or purchasing poppies at your local supermarket or in East Gate, Basildon Town Centre.
Please stay safe while you honour those men and women from the area who made the ultimate sacrifice by making a small sacrifice ourselves and celebrating in our own way at home or outdoors following government guidance.
Let’s hope we can bounce back next year.
