This book covers Laindon and the surrounding district, through the poetic words of local people’s fond memories of the area going back over 150 years. There is a unique story being told, either about a day in their lives or something closer to their hearts. With information of the authors and additional snippets on the history of the area referred to in the poems.
The area we knew as children is now unrecognisable. I hope that this journey through the past in both poetry, photographs and snippets will bring some nostalgic pleasure to those that lived through it and give an idea of what it was like to the younger generations.
