Launch of Archive Website

A selection of Photographs taken at the launch

The launch of the Website was a busy and enjoyable day for us at Laindon Library and it was nice to look around and see little groups of people remembering their friends and memories of our community. I hope they will remember to share them with us all through the Website.

It was nice to see our friends and fellow community Archivists from Benfleet and Wickford.  We very much appreciate the comments posted on the Benfleet Website.

We will add photographs as they become available.

  • Who is the gentleman in the railway uniform? Also it would be nice to see the names of the other people in the photographs who may be some we have known many years ago, but not able to recognise them prewsent day.

Editor: I have added the names to this photograph and will go through the others with Patsy to add the names as soon as practicable.

  • Thank You to all behind starting this Wonderful website up. I lost it for a while, after my main computer power unit, suddenly went up in smoke. Now, I use my laptop, and recommended others to join.

If you find our website interesting and you have memories of our community please provide us with an article so we can build a more complete social history. Editor
